According to the national PTA website, www.pta.org, the purpose of an Elementary School PTA is to “serve as a type of forum where parents, teachers, administrators and other concerned adults discuss ways to promote quality education, strive to expand the arts, encourage community involvement, and work for a healthy environment and safe neighborhoods.” What a terrific mission!

Welcome to Brookwood PTA!

Additional Fundraising Opportunities for Brookwood

How does PTA have the money each year to fund projects, equipment purchases, and enrichment programming for our students?  The answer is YOU.  The success of our fund raisers determines what we can support, so we need your help in these projects.

Brookwood Booster Club:
Order your car decal and t-shirt to show our Brookwood Lion Pride in the community.  Levels of support are $10, $20, and $25 and include one family PTA membership at each level.  Additional shirts and decals are available for families with more than one child at Brookwood.  Forms go home at the beginning of school; due back with payment on August 17, 2011.

Brookwood Ballyhoo:  Come enjoy a fabulous fall festival on Friday, September 23, from 5-8 p.m. at Brookwood.  The kids love this annual fun event, so mark your calendars now to spend your Friday night supporting Brookwood.  Profits from Ballyhoo support programs and enrichment activities at Brookwood.

Here are easy, fantastic ways for you to give to Brookwood without having to purchase anything extra.  We are so thankful to these merchants for supporting our school!

Chick-fil-A for Science:  Every 1st Tuesday of the month, plan on treating your family to Chick-fil-A on Walnut Avenue!  A percentage of sales that come from Brookwood families will be given back to our school.  We have the opportunity to raise approximately $250 each month, which will offset the cost to have additional science instruction for our students.  The class with the highest food total each month wins a free chicken nugget tray.

Box Tops for Education:  Look for the 10¢ Box Tops coupon on hundreds of your favorite products from General Mills.  Simply clip, attach to the sheets distributed monthly by your child’s teacher, and send the completed sheets back to school.  Watch for reminders throughout the year.  We will count and submit the coupons, and General Mills sends us cash!
